B-roll video ads

Format

How b-roll ads work

A b-roll ad strips the format down to footage, voiceover and rhythm. No face on screen makes the claim. Each shot visualises one beat of the script (the problem, the mechanism, the result), so the message lands with the sound off, which is how most people watch the feed.

It converts by showing. Where a talking head asks the viewer to believe a person, b-roll asks them to believe their eyes: the mess, the fix, the product in use, cut to the cadence of the voiceover. Skepticism is the default in most niches, and visible evidence disarms it faster than any claim can.

B-roll fits problem-and-fix stories, software and any message with something to show, and it serves every other format too: cutaways under a talking head cover the edit points, hold attention through the middle of a script and give a claim something to point at. In-house, the storyboard from your brief maps a shot to every beat, then come the footage, the voiceover, captions for the muted feed, the pacing and the edit. A b-roll library compounds, so a new script plus existing footage becomes a new ad. The first cut lands in 24-72 hours.

B-Roll questions

Where does the footage come from?

A mix of AI-generated shots, screen recordings and any footage you already have. I choose every shot for one beat of the script.

Does a b-roll ad need a voiceover?

Most use a voiceover plus on-screen captions. The captions carry the argument for the muted majority; the voiceover carries it for everyone else.

Can you add b-roll to my talking head or podcast-style ads?

Yes. That's its most common use. Cutaways cover edit points, hold attention through the middle, and give claims something visible to point at.

How fast can variants ship?

Fastest of any format. Once the library exists, a new script is a new ad: the first cut lands in 24-72 hours and variations follow on the same clock.

Every frame, by hand

Digit Alchemy is a founder-led studio. I script, frame and finish every hook, every cut, every avatar's pause and glance myself. No handoffs to a production line, no template doing the thinking.

You bring the brief. I storyboard it, write the hooks and script, and make the creative calls on top: which style, which face, which pace. Every style runs in-house, from AI UGC and street interviews to motion graphics, 2D and 3D animation and claymation.

There's a faster way to make AI video: chain node-based automations together, drop a templated avatar on top, ship a hundred variants. It's also the fastest way to lose the viewer. Audiences recognise that content in half a second: the same faces, the same cadence, the same synthetic gloss. I craft frame by frame. Automation handles rendering, versioning and delivery, and never touches how the ad looks, sounds or sells.

Viewers watch what feels native to the feed and skip what feels generated. The gap comes down to a hundred small decisions per video that automated pipelines skip. Casting the right face for the audience, pacing the hook to the platform, matching the grain and light of real phone footage. It costs more time. It converts.

How it works

Brief in, ad out.

One process for every style, from AI UGC to 3D animation.

01

Send a Brief

A script, a concept, a product link or a competitor ad you like. A rough idea is enough to start.

02

Storyboard and Script

I write the hooks and the script, storyboard every scene, and pick the style that fits: UGC, animation, claymation or cinematic.

03

Production

I handle casting, voice, motion and edit in-house and check every frame against the platform the ad runs on.

04

Delivery and Revisions

First cut in 24-72 hours, in native 9:16. Revisions and new variations follow on the same clock.

Pricing

How Pricing Works

There's no fixed price list here. I scope every project around what you need: the style, the length, how many hooks or variations you want, and how much animation goes into it.

Ten concepts for the price of one shoot day.

A shoot day buys one idea on one set. The same budget here buys ten finished ads, scripted and storyboarded, in whichever styles fit.

Meta ads start from $140, organic social videos from $110. I scope batches and full campaigns per project.

Send a brief, a script or a competitor ad you like, or book a quick call, and you'll have a clear scope and price before anything starts.

Questions before you brief

How fast is the first cut?

Within 24-72 hours once we agree the brief. Variations and revisions follow on the same clock, so a five-variant batch lands inside a working week.

Do hooks and scripts come with the video, or do I supply them?

They come with it. I write the hooks and script for every ad and storyboard it before production starts. Send your own script and I'll produce it as written.

Which styles can you make?

AI UGC, talking heads, street interviews, podcast-style, product demos, motion graphics, 2D and 3D animation, claymation, Pixar-style and cinematic. I make all of it in-house, so one brief can run across several styles.

What's the revisions policy?

Revisions come included until the cut matches the agreed brief: hook, format, platform, length. A new script or format after approval counts as a new deliverable, and I scope it as one.

What do you need from me to start?

The offer and who it's for; any references (a competitor ad you like, a script, a concept); brand assets such as logo, colours, product shots or app access; and the link the ad should send people to. A rough idea is enough to begin.

Who owns the avatars and voices?

You own the finished ads for any channel, with no usage window. I create avatars and voices per project and never reuse them for other clients.

Do you run the ads, or just make them?

Digit Alchemy produces the creative; you or your media buyer run it. You get everything in native 9:16, ready to upload to Meta or TikTok, with hook variants named for testing.

What's the minimum project?

Meta ads start from $140 and organic social videos from $110. Most projects are batches: several hooks on one format, or one message across two or three formats. I scope and quote them before anything starts.

What happens if an ad doesn't perform?

Performance depends on the offer, the targeting and the spend, and no creative wins every test. Brands find winners by testing several creatives. Revisions cover matching the approved brief. New concepts after approval get quoted as new work.

Will Meta flag or reject AI-made ads?

Across $100K+ in ad spend, Meta has not rejected any of my ads for being AI-made. Meta can add an "AI info" label to some content, and ads about social issues, elections or politics carry extra disclosure rules.

What are the payment terms?

Every project runs 50/50: half upfront, half on delivery. Upwork projects run through Upwork's payment protection.
