AutoBuddy

A street interview that turns car payments into a plot twist — same car, $190 a month less.

The approach

The format is a man-on-the-street interview with one question: “how much are you paying a month for your car loan?” The answers stack up the tension — $680 for a Toyota RAV4, $720 for a Hilux from someone who “just went with whatever the dealer offered” and admits he doesn't fully understand what he signed.

Then the twist: another driver, same RAV4, paying $490. The mechanism comes from her, peer to peer — a free 60-second online quiz that checks approvals without touching your credit score, a pre-approval in hand before walking into the dealership, and the dealer's finance desk suddenly competing with a better offer. The CTA closes exactly where the curiosity peaks: free quiz, links below.

Why it works

  • The numbers do the persuading

$680 versus $490 on the identical car is a felt loss, not an abstract saving. Viewers immediately run their own payment against the gap — the ad makes them do the math on themselves.

  • The audience is in the video

“I just went with whatever the dealer offered” is most car buyers. The interviewees aren't characters — they're mirrors, which is what makes the fix feel personally available.

  • Every objection cleared before the CTA

Free. Sixty seconds. No credit-score impact. Real leverage at the dealership. By the time “links below” lands, there's no rational reason left not to tap.
